Patricia Ann (Schmidt) Haskell 1924-2008

Patricia Ann Haskell, 83, of Kincheloe died, Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey.
She was born December 23, 1924, in Ann Arbor to Adolph Ellory and Ruth (nee Allmendinger) Schmidt.
Mrs. Haskell grew up in Ann Arbor, reared her children there, and worked for 21 years as an editor for University Microfilm International. She married David Daniel Haskell December 7, 1971 at the United Church of Christ in Ann Arbor.
In 1988, she and Mr. Haskell moved to Kincheloe, near his job, and she became an active volunteer in the township and for Red Cross blood drives. She also contributed to the Community Voice newspaper.
Mrs. Haskell enjoyed stained glass art, photography, writing, golfing, gardening, and traveling.
She was an avid University of Michigan fan and enjoyed both sports and music.
Her family said she was adventurous and would try anything, including a trip to the top of one of the towers of the Mackinac Bridge when she was in her 70s.
Mrs. Haskell is survived by her husband; three daughters, Maxine Louise Gardner Wiggins of Chelsea, Rosalyn E. Teachworth of Old Lyme, Connecticut, and Stephanie Murray of Arden, North Carolina; one son and his family, Gregory and Susan Gardner of Pinckney; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Eleanor Dorstewitz, Margaret Carniege, Alice Copley, Leta Ristine, and her twin, Mary Isaacson.
Services were at 1 p.m. Friday, August 1, at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford with visitation preceding at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
