Geoffrey HASKELL
Geoffrey Edward Haskell Sept. 27, 1974~May 21, 2010 Resident of Pleasanton Died peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 35. With a warm smile, kind eyes and his undeniable gift to listen, Geoff inspired and touched everyone he came in contact with. Geoff was born on Sept. 27, 1974 in Berkeley and grew up in Moraga. A gifted athlete, Geoff spent his formative years playing youth baseball and soccer, and spending hours in the ocean and pool. He attended Campolindo High where he met his future wife, Kendra Carey. After graduating from high school in 1992, Geoff attended the University of Arizona and graduated in 1996 with a degree in Business Administration. Returning to the Bay Area, Geoff and Kendra married Aug 11, 1996. Although he held a business degree, Geoff felt a higher calling for his life. He soon went to work at Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church, serving in youth ministry. Geoff spent years building relationships with high school and college students and their families and led trips to Mexico building houses for underprivileged families. His years serving the church and community inspired him. Geoff attended Fuller Seminary and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 2003. After graduation, he and the family moved to Plano, Texas where he served the community as a youth pastor. After two years, the family returned to the Bay Area when Geoff was called as Pastor to Youth and Their Families at Centerpointe Presbyterian Church in Pleasanton. Geoff served the broader Pleasanton community as Chaplain to the Pleasanton PD and assistant coach to the Foothill High School varsity baseball team. In January, 2009 Geoff went to work for Pacific Medical as a field representative in the greater Bay Area. Geoff was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in July 2009. After a determined and valiant battle with the disease, he walked from this life and into God's Kingdom on May 21, 2010. Geoff was a dedicated husband and father. He is survived by wife Kendra, daughters Kate and Emily, son Matthew, mother and step-father Ellen and Bill, father Greg, brother Scott, in-laws Chuck and Linda, and brothers-in-law Chris and Kevin. May he rest in peace. Memorial service to be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:30am at Cornerstone Fellowship, 348 North Canyons Parkway, Livermore.
